The Project

This was a fun project. It’s a memoir/autobiographical inspirational book. But the fun elements were her wanting to incorporate the hummingbird on the inside of her book. And she had these pillars. I wasn’t sure if it should be a literal column, but I pitched the idea and she seemed to like it.

There wasn’t too much back-and-forth on this. Shelia had a very good idea of what she wanted. The only tricky thing was figuring out what kind of hummingbird to use and how to use and how fancy it needed to be. I initially went too extra on the hummingbird and toned it down to match the bird on the cover.
